Welcome to Student life! We’re so glad you’re here. Before you read about us, stop for a moment and think about yourself.

Students, the world is your oyster. It is filled with limitless opportunities waiting to be seized by bright, driven young people. Whatever it is that you want -- it is out there, it is waiting. The only question is will YOU discover it.

We believe that you have the potential to seize your dreams. With the support and services of College Bound, we can help move your dreams closer to reality.

So think about what you want. And then realize that College bound was created to help you achieve it. Here’s an idea of how we do it.

Since May 2006, College Bound students got out with local, national and international leaders such as:
  • Paul Rusesabagina, hero of the movie, Hotel Rwanda 
  • Colin Powell, US Secretary of State 
  • Sylvester Brown, St. Louis Post Dispatch journalist 
  • Isaac Bruce, Rams Wide Receiver 
  • Jeff Smith, Missouri State Senator 
  • Dr. Robert Williams, Social justice leader and author of Racism…through Racial Scripting.
  • Chris Draft, St. Louis Rams Linebacker
  • Bob Holden, Governor of Missouri
  • Rachel Storch, Missouri Representative
  • Mary Badham, actress who played Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird
College Bound students benefited from university involvement such as:
  • Weekly tutoring at Washington University, The Big Read and Tutor Appreciation Barbecue 
  • 3-Day Leadership Conference at the University of Missouri-Columbia 
  • University of Missouri-Columbia Black Power Panel Workshop 
  • Scholarships to Florida to attend an HBCU sponsored health care symposium 
  • 3-week personal and academic enrichment camp (including an overnight in the dorm) at Saint Louis University
  • 4-Day Legislative Black Caucus on University of Missouri-Columbia campus 
  • Dance Marathon Fundraiser at Washington University
  • Academic fair hosted by University of Missouri-St. Louis diversity group Helping Hands
  • 3-day admission residential workshop on campus at Fontbonne University
College Bound students also powered up at:
  • College Fairs 
  • Workshops at the Contemporary Art Museum 
  • Healthy lifestyle workshops at New City School
  • Team building weekends and residential leadership programs at Wyman and Sherwood Forest
  • Performances at the Touhill Performing Arts Center
  • Build days for Habitat for Humanity
  • Volunteer weekends at Food Outreach
  • Election Day polls
  • Job Shadowing opportunities at local businesses
  • Math intensive workshops during spring break
  • Fifteen week Junior Achievement program
  • Health walks hosted by American Heart Association
  • Build-a-Bear workshop with students from Hamilton Elementary School
And that’s not all!

College Bound students meet every week before or after school for ACT preparation, life skills, financial literacy programs, rap sessions and character education.
