Director of Development
Job Title: Director of Development
Reports to:
Executive Director
College Bound is seeking an experienced development professional to support a growing non-profit organization
. College Bound St. Louis is an award-winning college preparation and persistence program. The mission of College Bound is to provide promising high school students from under-resourced backgrounds with the academic enrichment, social supports and life skills needed to apply, matriculate and succeed in four-year colleges.
Since our founding in 2006, we have succeeded in helping 100 percent of our graduating seniors earn admission to a four-year college!

Job Summary
As a member of the leadership team, the Development Director is directly responsible for leading all development activities within the organization. The Director will implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to expand philanthropic support including: annual giving, corporate sponsorship, foundation and government grants, individual giving, stewardship programs, and special events. The Development Director will work closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
Primary Responsibilities
• Develop and implement fundraising plan with input from key staff and the Board of Directors to meet annual revenue goals
• Identify and develop relationships with potential foundation, corporate and individual donors through effective research and creative outreach strategies
• Identify new state and federal funding sources
• Manage the grant submission and reporting process, including the writing of grants
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee fundraising events
• Create and serve as the staff liaison to a Board of Director’s development committee
• Plan and implement donor appreciation and cultivation events
• Develop and maintain an up-to-date organizational website
• Coordinate and create publications and marketing materials as needed
• Oversee record keeping related to fundraising and development
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years fundraising or development experience
• Exceptional writing skills; previous writing experience required
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Strategic thinker who can communicate and implement a plan for growth of the organization
• Strong computer skills, proficiency in Powerpoint, Word and Excel
• Strong commitment to the College Bound mission
• Prefer previous experience planning and organizing fundraising events
